Medical Information for entering Peru

VACCINATIONS REQUIRED TO TRAVEL TO PERU

Yellow fever and malaria certificates to enter Peru are not mandatory, but the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends obtaining them in case visitors travel to some areas of the country.

Considering the recommendations of the World Health Organization and the Peruvian Ministry of Health for travelling to Lima (where the IOC Session will be held), no vaccination is required; but if a traveller plans to visit some jungle areas no more than 2,000 metres above sea level in the Departments of Amazonas, Áncash, Ayacucho, Cusco, Huánuco, Junín, Loreto, Pasco, Puno, San Martín and Ucayali (with the exception of the City of Cusco, Machu Picchu and any of tourist points in the Urubamba Valley), it is recommended he/she is vaccinated against yellow fever at least 10 days before visiting those areas.
